Russ became a Certified Financial Planner in 2012 and is a licensed Insurance agent. Russ earned bachelor's degrees in Geology and English from CSU Chico. He worked as a Geologist for many years, specializing in exploration of disseminated gold deposits. He has taught Financial Peace University courses in his church. He and his wife Ava have been married since 1985 and have two wonderful sons and a granddaughter.
Ava is a licensed insurance agent. She earned a degree in Gerontology (the study of human aging) and is a retired grammar and middle school teacher. She has a strong heart for seniors and has the ability to explain complex aging issues in an easy-to-understand way. She was a long-term care ombudsman with the state of California, whose goal was to ensure that the facilities were not violating the rights of seniors.
